3 Places to Shop and Support Local Artisans in Pheonix, Arizona

Art and decor are essential to expression—it’s a way to embrace and show who you are and change the mood of your space and even your day. Your spaces should provide a space you enjoy, from the colors to the artwork.

Although I occasionally love larger, chain home decor stores that offer consistency and staple pieces, no store can match the unique designs created by local artisans.

Whether you’re an Arizonian or not, I wanted to share and provide some insight into my favorite places to shop and support local Artisans in Phoenix (and if you find pieces you love, they can always ship directly to your home, no matter where you are)!

Where to Shop and Support Local Artisans in Pheonix, AZ

Arizona's most attractive quality is its reputation for embracing the bold and personable. Rather than following the trends on HGTV, local artisans create pieces that embody the warmth, creativity, and community of Phoenix.

Albeit from a different perspective as each artist showcases their own style and interpretation, the art—and decor, furniture, pottery, etc.—all center around a commonality: made in Arizona.

So, if you’re looking for the next one-of-a-kind piece that will help your house feel like your home (cheesy, but true), here are the three shops I recommend:

Practical Art, Retail & Gallery Space

Unique Brick Building "Practical Art" Retail and Gallery Space to Shop and Support Local Artisans in Arizona Against the Sunset | Ravenhouse Design

One of my absolute favorite places to find diverse and unique decor for my—and my clients—home spaces, Practical Art is a retail and gallery space featuring work from over 200 local artists.

Located at 5070 N. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ, Practical Art is more than just a store. It's a hub of creativity and community, offering home accessories, planters, prints, ceramics, original works, and more.

With a wide variety of local artisans contributing to their collections, you can find plenty of unique pieces to brighten your home and embrace your style. One of my favorite parts of being an interior designer is finding the perfect piece for your home—one that feels right to you and brings you happiness and comfort each time you walk into the room.

Modern Manor, Vintage Modern Furniture Showroom

Modern Manor is a vintage modern furniture showroom with a restaurant—a full bar, and a studio/event space. Its specialty is sourcing, refinishing, and reupholstering mid-century modern furniture, art, and decor from the 1940s through the 1980s.

I love spending time wandering the shop and drooling over their gorgeous furniture and decor—usually after stopping by their cafe, Valentine, for a coffee and some time spent with a good book.

Located at 4130 N. 7th Ave Pheonix, Modern Manor has a talent for curation and a super friendly staff—the ambiance itself makes the visit turn your trip into a literal experience.

Pueblo, Neighborhood Life[style] Shop

Pueblo Life, plant and home decor shop located in Phoenix, Arizona | Ravenhouse Design

Open and serving the community since 2015, Pueblo has stuck to what they know: Plants, people, and place. Pueblo is where to go when you want to be surrounded by nature and sustainability.

Located at 1025 Grand Ave., Phoenix, Arizona, it’s a beautiful and lively place to stop and shop for the tiny details you’ll love in your home. They offer pottery, books & cards, plants, and general home goods from local Arizona artisans—and if you go on Mon-Weds 9-3, you catch Caffio Espresso!

Pueblo is about community—and you’ll notice it immediately when you walk in, with the staff you interact with, and the products they offer, which makes it one of the best spaces in AZ to visit.

The Impact of  Local Artistry in Your Spaces

Shopping and supporting local artisans not only benefits the environment and local economy, but it also brings a unique touch of Arizona into your home. The impact of local artistry in your space is transformative—it adds a layer of authenticity and personality that mass-produced items simply can't match.

Whenever possible, I love finding locally made pieces to add to my client's spaces—and they quickly become the most loved feature and truly complete the mood of your room.

If you have some time this weekend or are planning a trip to Arizona soon, take some time looking through the work of your local artisans—you’ll be surprised by the pieces you’ll find. And, when you’re ready to craft a comfortable space in your home that reflects your personality and feels like you, book a consult with Ravenhouse Designs (it’s what we’re best at).
